An appts. for mixing two liquids comprises a lower plate and an upper plate of the same dimensions. The lower plate is engraved with a circuit which contains two linear channels converging to a single channel which is followed by a series of loops. The loops are constituted by channels of equal cross-sections diverging then converging. They are connected together by a single channel. The channel following the last loop served to discharge the mixt. The upper plate contains three holes for two feed tubes and a discharge tube. The plates are held together by two compression plates carrying means of ensuring perfect fluid-tightness at the circuit, the feed tubes and the discharge tube. The appts. is partic. utilisable at the outlet of liquid-phase chromatography columns for mixing the effluent with specific reactants forming coloured or fluorescent derivatives with the products being detected. In the appts. according to the invention, the dead vol. is very small, pref. 10-100 microlitres and the number of loops 4-12. The method gives a perfectly homogeneous mixt. because each mixing operation takes place in ideal conditions.
|
