PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nonmagnetic substrate capable of being fired in an oxidizing atmosphere at a comparatively low temperature, good in abrasion characteristics at a low temperature and processability, and usable for a magnetic head, and further to provide the magnetic head by using the same. SOLUTION: This nonmagnetic substrate 2 is constituted of a material consisting essentially of a complex oxide comprising BaO, TiO2 and NiO, and the ratio of each component of the complex oxide is 0.5-5 mol.% Bad, 50-55 mol.% TiO2 and 40-49.5 mol.% NiO. The magnetic head 1 is obtained by using the nonmagnetic substrate 2. |
