PURPOSE:To lighten the load for a storage battery and prolong the service life of a glow plug by controlling the aimed temperature by an aimed-temperature setting means for glow plug in accordance with engine temperature, lapse of time after start, and engine revolution speed. CONSTITUTION:The glow plugs 1 fitted in the preheating chambers of a 4-cylinder Diesel engine are connected in parallel and connected to the feed terminal of a DC power source through a resistor 2 for detecting electric current and an electric power amplifier 3, which is controlled by an electronic controller 11. Said electronic controller 11 receives each output signal of a water-temperature sensor 22 and an engine revolution speed sensor 26. Consequently, when an ON-signal 24 and a start signal 25 are generated by an engine switch, the glow plug 1 is held in conduction, and the aimed-temperature is controlled in accordance with the engine revolution speed, and the aimed temperature is lowered a the time lapses after start and the engine revolution speed increases. |
