PURPOSE:To always keep a printing apparatus constant, by once keeping away a printing mechanism part by a predetermined necessary distance from an initial position detection part and again performing the operation for determining the initial position. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the initial position determining operation of a printing mechanism part 1, the printing mechanism part 1 operates a drive motor 23 to an A-direction approaching an initial position detector 3 before an initial position detection signal 31 is issued and a driving control part 2 outputs a moving distance information signal 22 to a memory part 4 at every unit moving distance. The memory part 4 integrates the signal to store the integrated result. A judge part 5 reads final moving distance information 41 from the memory part 4 when the detection signal 31 is outputted and compares the same with a preset moving distace and, when the value of the information signal 41 is short of the set distance, outputs an initial position re-determination order signal 51. When the control part 2 receives the order signal 51, the mechanism part 1 is moved to a B-direction kept away from the detector 3 over the initial position re-determination distance longer than the set distance in the judge part 5 before initial position determining operation is performed. |
