The invention relates to an explosion protection device of a spraying chamber (1) for the application of powdered coating materials to protect against the explosion of industrial dust. The invention is essentially characterised in that a non-load-bearing balanced structural panel (2) is arranged in the rear wall of the spraying chamber (1). The size of the said panel is determined by the area necessary for the release of explosion products and for obtaining the pressure necessary for development. To prevent the transmission of flames to the operating chamber, the rear chamber is separated from the spraying chamber by a cover having suction apertures with a movable elastic plate, which acts as a self-closing flap in the event of an explosion. <IMAGE>
