A belt (12) made of a mesh or a belt made of a coarse fabric or of a wrappable carpet surface with a web carrier made of rubber-like material between the tyre (21) of the wheel and the surface (F) of the carriageway is laid as a rolling travel surface for each driven wheel (2) by means of belt-guiding means, consisting of in each case two rotatable belt winding reels (31, 32) which are borne by two shafts (33) or of at least one deflection roller, which can be rotated about an axle, for a continuous belt which rests continuously against the tyre of the wheel, or by means of belt attachment means with which a continuous belt continuously rests securely on the tread surface (211) over the circumference of the tyre of the wheel. The reel shafts (33) or roller axles are aligned parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel and attached to the motor vehicle. In addition, in each case one belt-guiding roller (52) is attached as belt-guiding means to the ends of two bolts (5) which project out under the motor vehicle just in front of and just behind each driven wheel (2) perpendicularly to the surface (F) of the carriageway. <IMAGE>
