Process for producing a mailing box and mailing box produced according to this process

In order to produce a mailing box with an insert having a shape which is the negative of the device to be despatched, a wooden pattern of the device to be despatched is placed on a baseplate. Then the pattern and part of the baseplate are covered with a thin film and subsequently the open mailing box is slipped over the pattern from above in such a manner that the open flap lid lies on the baseplate. Then a plastics foaming composition is charged through the opened base into the mailing box and the base closed. The resulting foam then fills the space in the mailing box outside the pattern so that an insert covered with film results.
