PURPOSE:To improve the power recovery effect of a turbo-compound engine by providing a generator motor which converts generated energy recovered from a power reversing mechanism at the time of input from a power turbine to driving force be transmitted to the power turbine just after the change-over of the power from the power turbine. CONSTITUTION:A power turbine 1 recovers exhaust gas energy and returns it to the crank shaft 31 of an engine 30. The driving force of the power turbine 1 is transmitted via a planetary gear mechanism 2 and a fluid clutch 4 to a transmitting shaft 5. Meantime, the transmitting shaft 5 transmits the driving force via a clutch 12 to an input/output shaft 11 and the input/output shaft 11 engages with a crank shaft gear 14 via an idle gear 15 to construct a power reversing mechanism. At this time, a generator motor 2a is additionally attached to the other end of the inlet/output shaft 11. Just after the power reversing mechanism is switched to the output of the crank shaft 31, the power turbine 1 is driven with energy recovered to the generator motor 21. |
