The controller controlling the luminous intensity of multi fluoresoent lamp according to the intensity of the indoor illuminution comprises an illumination meter (1) detecting the indoor illumination with multi logic levels, a logic circuit (2) transmitting a logic level corresponding to the indoor illumination, a power supplier (3) driving a switch connected to the output taps of a power transformer according to the output signal of the logic circuit for providing multi level voltages, and a starting voltage generator (4) providing larger voltage which exceeds the rate voltage when the lamp is started.
