Contactless switch controlled by IR - uses proximity sensor with reflex light scanner clocked by oscillator

The contactless 1R switch, for a room lighting system using LV lamps (7), uses a proximity sensor in the form of a light reflection device (1,2) which responds to the presence of a refractive surface at a distance up in the order of centimetres. The light reflection device is coupled to an integrator (3), a threshold switch (4) and a load switch (6) for the lamp (7). Pref. the switch is operated via a rod carrying an attached reflective disc and incorporates a storage function when the lighting system is switched off. ADVANTAGE - Allows selective switching of individual lamps.
