In order to make drilled holes with an undercut, use is made of drills whose drilling head has lateral cutting edges protruding laterally from the shank. By a pivoting movement, it is possible using this drilling head to ream out an undercut at the bottom of the drilled hole. To prevent destruction of the wall surface in the region of the drilled-hole opening by a depth stop situated on the drilling shank, use is made of a damping element which can be arranged inside a housing which engages over the drilling shank.
