The rack has at least two sets (3,5) of at least three vertical busbars. The changeover switches are controlled pref. electrically to switch the input for at least one slide-in unit to one and/or another busbar set. The switches are controlled by the operating conditions on the connected busbar set. The switches (11,15,17) are emergency power changeover switches that respond to the failure of power on one set of busbars. The switches may be overload protection switches that switch the busbar sets in parallel at overload. At least one of the slide-in units is capable of power distribution, lying between two sets. The switches may be on the slide-in unit.
