<p>PURPOSE:To provide an image forming apparatus which, when applied to an electrophotographic printer, controls the dispersion of luminous brightness on the main scanning line of a solid scanning head to obtain consistently stabilized luminous brightness. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic printer using a solid scanning head 12 with a light source of an EL(electroluminescence) element of an end face luminescence type as an exposure means, the correction of the luminous brightness of each EL element of the solid scanning head 12 is carried out using the brightness correction data in a brightness dispersion correction and gradation memory unit 40 to correct the dispersion of the luminous brightness independently for each EL element. By conducting the brightness correction by gradation data of each EL element of the solid scanning head 12 using the gradation correction data in the brightness dispersion correction and gradation memory unit 40, the gradation printing by the solid scanning head 12 is made possible.</p> |
