PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a flame resisting electrolyte, and high performance such as high discharge voltage and large capacity. SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery has an electrolyte containing at least either one of a chain carbonate and a cyclic carbonate, and triethyl phosphate as a solvent, and 25-50 vol.% triethyl phosphate is contained based on the total volume of the solvent in the electrolyte. Preferably, ethylene carbonate is used. More preferably, ethylene carbonate and propion carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, diethyl carbonate, or ethyl methyl carbonate, having lower donor number and lower viscosity than that of ethylene carbonate are used. |
