PURPOSE:To produce the title sheet excellent in gasoline resistance, heat resistance and mechanical strength, by impregnating a pile of ceramic fibers with a solution of a rubber and a vulcanizer in an organic solvent and press- vulcanizing the pile after drying. CONSTITUTION:A pile of ceramic fibers having an outside diameter <=50mum and a length of 0.5-250mm is impregnated with a solution obtained by dissolving a rubber (e.g., acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer rubber) and a vulcanizer in an organic solvent (e.g., acetone) and dried to obtain a dry mixture of a rubber content of 30-80wt%. This dry mixture is press-vulcanized. In this way, sheet useful for a gasket for the intake manifold of a gasoline engine can be obtained. |
