PURPOSE: To obtain a cast refractory extremely excellent in slag penetration resistance, developing a hot strength comparable to magnesia-chromium brick also in strength and having durability more excellent than magnesia-chromium brick. CONSTITUTION: This compact is obtained by adding and blending 1-15 pts.wt. of zirconia whose all particles has <=0.1mm particle size with 100 pts.wt. of a blend obtained by blending magnesia whose all particles have >=0.1mm particle diameter with alumina whose all particles have <=1mm particle diameter so that the blend contains 35-85wt.% magnesia and 65-15wt.% alumina and average pore diameter of the compact is s <=5μm at least when use of the compact is started. |
