PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery in which negative electrode capacity and output characteristics are improved by improving a negative electrode including plural carbon materials and binder. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided with a positive electrode 4, a negative electrode 6 including carbon materials, and nonaqueous electrolyte, the negative electrode 6 includes a first carbon material to occlude and discharge lithium, a second carbon material as a conductive member, and binder comprising high polymer material, and a collector is coated with a negative electrode layer in which binder quantity per unit surface in the surface of the first carbon material is less than binder quantity per unit surface in the surface of the second carbon material.
