PURPOSE:To enlarge a source picture while preventing the generation of jagging by repeatedly using an approximately curved surface calculating means, enlarging means and enlarged picture data calculating means. CONSTITUTION:The first approximately curved surface calculating means calculates the first approximately curved surface to one part of the source picture and the first enlarging means enlarges the central part of the first approximately curved surface to double. A double picture data calculating means calculates a lot of the first approximately curved surfaces from one end to the other end in the breadthwise direction of the source picture by the first approximately curved surface calculating means while laterally shifting control points one by one. When the calculation is finished, a lot of the double central part curved surfaces are linked not so as to be mutually overlapped while longitudinally shifting the control points one by one similarly, and the double picture data are prepared. From these data, C-times pictured data are similarly prepared. Thus, for the C-times picture data, source picture data are enlarged with high approximation concerning all directions, and a satisfactory C-times picture can be obtained without jagging. |
