PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which is suitable for miniaturization and facilitates production with respect to the optical device suitable for use as an optical multiplexer or optical demultiplexer in a system to which WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) is applied. SOLUTION: This optical device comprises a slab optical waveguide 30 and first plural waveguides 32 and second plural waveguides 34 which are connected to this slab optical waveguide 30. The respective waveguides 34 comprise cavities 36 which are connected to the slab optical waveguide 30 and cavities 38 which are connected at an acute angle via a reflection surface 23A to the cavities 36. The cavities 38 are constituted by termination at a reflection surface (44). |
