PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely lay chips consisting of a magnetic body on a nonmagnetic rotary sleeve and to separate the chips from a coolant with a drawing roller in this state. SOLUTION: This separator is provided with a cylindrical nonmagnetic sleeve 5 rotating around a shaft 51, a magnetic field generation means 4 having width in the shaft direction of the sleeve 5, forming plural magnetic fields in the peripheral direction along the surface of the sleeve 5 and generating force for magnetically attracting a magnetic body on the surface of the sleeve 5, a drawing roller 7 rotating to press the sleeve 5 in a position where the direction of the magnetic field becomes in parallel to the surface of the cylindrical nonmagnetic sleeve 5 and a magnetic body peeling-off means for peeling off the magnetic body from the surface of the sleeve 5. |
