The combustion chamber and nozzle have an outer pressure envelope (9), an inner wall (10) with cooling channels (11), and an intermediate layer (2) of a superelastic material with parallel filaments or adjacent strips. In between the cooling channels the inner wall has slits (3) through part of its thickness, lying perpendicular to the intermediate layer.
