Biodegradable fabric softener premix compositions are described containing ( 1) biodegradable softener actives that contain substantial unsaturation and (2) perfume. The premixes can be added at ambient temperatures to water containi ng acid, to provide a pH of from about 1.5 to bout 5, to form finished compositions. The water can also contain calcium and/or magnesium salt to modify the viscosity.
