PURPOSE:To improve a visual field angle by eliminating an inversion phenomenon which is a significant fault to a person viewing the liquid crystal display device and the degradation in contrast occurring therein. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is formed by disposing an antiparallel cell 21 subjected to an orientation treatment to provide liquid crystal molecules with directivity of the same direction between the liquid crystal display device 22 and a polarizing plate 20 in order to decrease the refractive index anisotropy generated in the thickness direction of the liquid crystal display device. |
