PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more favourable method to provide air-fuel mixture by an internal combustion engine and to provide the internal combustion engine accompanied with gasoline direct injection having an improved partial load characteristic, reduced inherent fuel consumption and an improved emission characteristic. SOLUTION: Fuel is vaporized by injecting a roughly cylindrical fuel jet 21 toward a piston bottom 5 in a combustion chamber 15, changing a direction of the fuel jet 21 under formation of a wall film on the piston bottoms 5, 23 and breaking the directionally changed fuel jet 21 into fuel droplets 25.
