PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive which can realize reliable high-speed reproduction using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The disk drive provided with an optical pickup head 12, having a split in four photodetector 14 to perform a photoelectric conversion of reflected light of a light beam irradiated on an optical disk 11, has in the optical pickup head 12, a waveform equalizing, means 18 to apply waveform equalization processing to a RF signal, generated by adding outputs from the split in four photodetector 14 in a full adder circuit 17, binarization means 19 and 20 to binarize the output of the waveform equalization means 18, a band conversion means 21 to convert and output digital data outputted from the binarization means 19 and 20 into a plurality of digital data, having a frequency band of 1/2k (k is a positive integer) of the frequency band outputted from the means 19 and 20.
