PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the retrieval efficiency of a document file that is frequently updated by reflecting automatically the updating contents of the document file on a database with high efficiency. SOLUTION: When a document file to be registered is read (S31), it is decided whether the document file is already registered on a database 116 (S32). When the document file is already registered, an identifier is acquired to show the registered position of the corresponding old index data concerning the registered document file on the database 116 (S34). The new index data are generated from the registered document file and registered on the database 116 together with the link information to the registered document file (S35). Then the old index data and its relative link information are deleted from the database 116 (S36).
