<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for offering license and contents enabling reliable offer of license and contents. <P>SOLUTION: When a request for purchase of license and contents for viewing digital contents has been received from a client terminal via a network, the contents are distributed in response to the request for contents from the client side, and furthermore, in response to the request for license, a pertinent license is generated and transmitted to the client, together with license-contents association data which indicates the relation between the license and the distributed contents.
