<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood club head with which a golfer can easily strike a ball even on a deep rough without being annoyed with the rough. <P>SOLUTION: In this wood club head for golf, a leading edge 2 at the lower end of a face 1 is formed at an edge angleβ, more acute than a loft angleα. To form a wing-shaped leading edge 2, a channel 3 is provided in the part just above the leading edge 2 or projected forward of the face 1. The wing-shaped leading edge 2 is a Russell shape greatly projecting in a near center in the width direction of the face, and converging at the toe side and the heel side face.
