PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter whose construction enables maintenance and inspection of individual components, which has a high reliability with a balanced cooling structure and, further, which can be manufactured at a low cost by reducing the number of components. SOLUTION: The respective phases of a power converter comprises a plurality of cell-units connected in series to each other. Each cell-unit 20 is composed of a device block 22 in which rectifier devices, switching devices and cooling fins 31 to which the rectifier devices and the switching devices are attached are housed, a smoothing block 21 in which components of which a smoothing circuit unit is composed are housed and a control block 23 in which control components for the control of an inverter circuit unit are housed. The respective blocks 21-23 are piled vertically and the respective piled blocks are disconnectably connected to each other to be integrated into one structural unit. |
