PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter that transmits high quality AV data with sophisticated functions by reducing a bit rate of a PCR in the transmission data as less as possible and assigning more data to the AV data by the reduced rate with respect to the transmitter that multiplexes a plurality of MPEG2-TS signals and transmits the multiplexed signals. SOLUTION: A PCR control section 11 of the transmitter 10 reads a PCR value of a 1st encoder 12-1 at the arrival of a first house SYNC and adds PCR values by one video frame to the read PCR value and sends the result to all encoders 12-1 -12- N. The N sets of the encoders 12-1 -12- N use the received common PCR after succeeding house SYNC to encode AV data. A multiplexer 13 multiples a plurality of encoded MPEG2-TS signals and the common PCR and transmits the resulting data. |
