<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor where the discharge performance of condensed water is higher as compared with the conventional. <P>SOLUTION: In a double-structure protector (4), a diameter W1 of a bottom hole (412) of an external protector (41) is set larger than a diameter W2 of a bottom hole (422) of an internal protector (42). As a result, when condensed water that is accumulated inside the protector (4) drops to the outside through bottom holes (411 and 412), the surface area of the condensed water becomes small due to surface tension although the opening area of the bottom hole of the protector (4) becomes large at a boundary section (43) between the bottom holes (411 and 412). More specifically, not only gravity is utilized but also the surface tension of the condensed water is utilized in the protector (4) for releasing the condensed water from the outer edge of the bottom holes (411 and 412), thus increasing the discharge performance of the condensed water in an oxygen sensor (1) as compared with before. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
