A PBA(Phone Book Address)-based service supply method in a presence system and a system therefor are provided to enable the presence system to use PBA information managed by existing mobile communication subscribers, thereby simplifying a procedure in accordance with service usage when a terminal user uses additional services through the presence system. A random additional service is requested by a terminal(310). A service buddy list corresponding to the random additional service is set by using PBA information of the terminal, which is obtained from an address book management system, and the presence information of the terminal is transmitted to another terminal corresponding to the service buddy list(320-340).
