<p>Methods and compositions for altering cognitive functions, including appetite, are described. Such methods are performed by administration of an effective amount of a compound capable of achieving the desired effect, namely a TLR agonist, alone or in conjunction with other compounds or compositions. In the context of appetite suppression, TLR agonists can be administered to reduce a subject's food intake, alone or in conjunction with other compounds or compositions that affect satiety. Disorders that can be treated as a result includes binge-eating disorder, bulimia, and holiday-associated hypernutrition.</p> |
