<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink film thickness controlling method capable of ink removing in proper quantities in each printing unit in case of exchanging simultaneously stencils of respective printing units. <P>SOLUTION: In a case of simultaneous exchanging of the simultaneous exchanging of the stencils of respective printing units, N1, N2, N3, N4(N4>N3>N2>N1) as values wherein ink trapping are considered are set as numbers of removing sheets in each printing unit. Respective printing units carry out simultaneously ink removing. When the number NA of printing sheets in the first color reaches N1, the first color cylinder is extracted. When the number NB of printing sheets in the second color reaches N2, the second color cylinder is extracted. When the number NC of printing sheets in the third color reaches N3, the third color cylinder is extracted.
