PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for realizing fault tolerance by suppressing costs of a standby system, even when a server system constituted by a virtual machine increases in scale.SOLUTION: A fault tolerant system comprises: a memory region data duplication section 11 which duplicates memory region contents (memory region data) for a virtual machine of an operation system virtual machine operating on an operation system device 10, in a shared storage 30; a fault detection section 41 which detects fault occurrence in the operation system device 10; a memory region data acquisition section 21 which acquires memory region data of the operation system virtual machine operating in the operation system device 10 in which the fault has occurred, from the shared storage 30; and a changeover section 22 which, when fault occurrence is detected by the fault detection part 41, causes a standby system virtual machine in a standby system device 20 to operate by using the memory region data acquired by the memory region data acquisition section 21, and changes over so that a function of the operation system virtual machine operating on the operation system device 10 in which the fault has occurred is continued with the standby system virtual machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
