A flywheel regeneration system is provided with a CVT including a variator and a sub-transmission mechanism. During deceleration of the vehicle, a flywheel clutch is engaged so as to regenerate kinetic energy of the vehicle in the flywheel. When the flywheel clutch is engaged to perform regeneration, the timing of down-shifting the sub-transmission mechanism is modified on the basis of the magnitude of demanded deceleration demanded by the driver. |
