PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system, relay station, and radio communication method that make it possible to resume service of the relay station, by securely performing re-connection with a base station whose antenna diagnosis is performed in periodic monitoring.SOLUTION: A radio communication system 100 is composed of: a base station 102; and a relay station 106 for relaying radio communication between the base station and a radio communication terminal 104. The base station comprises a periodic monitoring unit 116 that performs, in periodic monitoring, antenna diagnosis and suspends a radio wave after completion of the antenna diagnosis to perform frame timing synchronization with a communication network. The relay station comprises: a state number confirmation unit 130 for determining the completion of antenna diagnosis in the periodic monitoring with the periodic monitoring unit; and a re-connection processing unit 132 for starting processing of re-connection with the base station after it is determined by the state number confirmation unit that the antenna diagnosis has been completed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
