PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement higher precision and higher speed without adding to circuit scale and current consumption.SOLUTION: A sub-ranging A/D converter includes: a voltage-current converter array 400 for generating currents sized and polarized in accordance with differential voltages between an input voltage and reference voltages used in a flash type upper bit deciding A/D converter for deciding upper M bits; a current switch array 500 for selectively additively outputting the output currents of two or more voltage-current converters of the voltage-current converter array in accordance with a combination of output values of a plurality of voltage comparators used in the upper bit deciding A/D converter; and a lower bit deciding A/D converter 700 for receiving the addition current of the current switch array to generate a code of lower L bits. |
