PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal inspection device and a seal inspection method that can detect not only defects of a seal member, but also defects such as scratches, dents or the like of a separator.SOLUTION: A seal inspection device 6 for a fuel battery cell 2 includes a plate-like first jig 60 arranged on one side of a first separator 4U via a first seal member 5U, a plate-like second jig 61 which is disposed on one surface side in the thickness direction of a second separator 4D and clamps the fuel battery cell 2 with the first jig 60 while compressing the fuel battery cell 2, and a gas supplier 65 for supplying inspection gas to the gap between the first jig 60 and the second jig 61. The second jig 61 includes a plate-shaped main body portion 66, and a dummy seal member 67 which comes into elastic contact with the second separator 4D to seal a predetermined portion defined between the dummy seal member 67 itself and the second separator 4D, and the contact surface 675 of the dummy seal member 67 in contact with the second separator 4D exhibits a planar shape under a natural state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
