PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-density ITO sintered compact through slurry casting molding process with slight impurity contamination of the slurry. SOLUTION: This method for producing a high-density ITO sintered compact with slight impurity contamination from ground mix media comprises the following steps: ion-exchanged water and an organic additive are added to indium oxide powder and tin oxide powder followed by grinding under mixing in a ball mill to prepare a slurry which, in turn, is subjected to cast molding, and the resulting molded form is sintered; wherein the tin oxide powder is adjusted previously so as to be 1-4 m<2> /g in specific surface area and <=1 μm in average particle size. Alternatively, this method comprises sintering the above-mentioned molded form in an oxygen atmosphere.
