[Also in Division F2] Flexible sheets 1, Fig. 1, such as newspapers in overlapping stream, are passed between three roller pairs 2, 3, 4. The roller pair 2, Fig. 3, comprises an upper roller 6 including a freely rotatable convex portion 10, and a lower roller 7 including a freely rotatable concave portion 11 mating with the portion 10 and two concave portions 13, 14. The roller pairs 3, 4 are similar except that the upper roller has three convex portions. In another form the first pair includes an upper roller with a central convex portion and two concave portions and a lower roller with a central concave portion only and the other pairs include a similar upper roller and a lower roller with a central concave portion and two convex portions. In each case, three longitudinal lines of corrugation are formed in the shuts. Guide means 46 comprising belts 48, 49 prevent an accumulation of sheets in front of the roller pairs. The lower rollers are connected by belts 28, 29, 30, 31 and the upper rollers by cords such as 24, 25, 26, 27 to prevent accumulation of sheets between the rollers. |
