A mineral lubricating oil containing 0À05- 3À5% by wt. of an oil-soluble polyester of M.W. 80,000-150,000 of a monoester comprising at least one C 12 -C 20 alkyl monohydric alcohol esterified with acrylic or methacrylic acid, is converted to an aerosol and conducted to the lubrication zone wherein the aerosol is reclassified and at least 85% of the oil droplets of the aerosol coalesce. A preferred polyester is a polymerized mixed ester of octadecylmethacrylate and lauryl methacrylate. The composition may include an extreme pressure agent such as a phosphosulphurized lard or sperm oil. |
