1277092 Safety arrangements FAURE & CIE and B FAURE 4 June 1969 [28 June 1968] 28234/69 Heading F4T In a confined space such as a caravan containing combustion apparatus producing combustion gases e.g. carbon dioxide, a safety arrangement for shutting down the combustion apparatus and ventilating the premises if the level of combustion gases therein reaches a predetermined value comprises an adjustable gas burner 1 having a flame 3 on the verge of extinction and heating a thermosensitive member 4 connected to an aneroid in a casing 5 so that on the level of carbon dioxide reaching the predetermined value the flame 3 is extinguished and the aneroid is deformed to close communication between pipes 15, 16 to discontinue gas flow to the combustion apparatus and to open a clip 17 to which is clamped a cord 19 controlling the opening of a ventilation flap. An electric switch 13 is also actuated and controls for instance the closing of a pipe feeding fuel oil to a heating stove. The burner 1 is ignited by an electric igniter 8 controlled by a manually operated piezo-electric generator 6.
