The bottle opener has a handle and opening tool with circular mounting opening whose edge is profiled to match crown cork edge. This tool is designed to deal with a variety of cork sizes and also with twist off corks. The opening tool (3) has a number of seating holes (4, 5) of different sizes. An opening hook (8) arranged on the edge of a seat is in line with the handle (1) of the combined tool. The seats (4, 5) can be concentric and the tool and its handle can be made as an integral unit. The lifting hook can be arranged on the edge of a small seat in order to increase the rigidity of the tool.
