Bus for use with raised alighting platforms - has front and rear sections stepped above platform height

The lower part of the bus is stepped inwards and downwards so tht it can be driven between loading and unloading platforms (3, 4) arranged at floor height (6) to the vehicle without leaving a gap which could hinder the free movement of the passengers and at the same time offer manoeuvring space (R) for the driver. The stepped-in section situated between the front and rear wheels can be slight and the sections to the front and rear can taper inwards. A folding step is provided at the entrance and exit doors for use where no platform is provided.
