Steering wheel lock with safety interlock - has axially fixed cylinder and catch to prevent locking until key is withdrawn

The locking bolt of the steering wheel lock is moved axially by a cam operated by the rotating cylinder of the lock. The cylinder itself is axially fixed so that from the outside it is not possible to force the lock nor see which setting it is in. The lock is fitted with a fail-safe interlock which inhibits the operation of the cam, in an axial direction and hence prevents the bolt from operating. The interlock is released when the key is fully withdrawn.
