Double cylinder lock for door - has equal length cylinder bodies and has locking catch and recess offset to one side of centre line

The double cylinder lock is used for door and it is operated by a flat key (15) inserted into a cylinder barrel. This moves spring loaded tumblers to enable the lock to be turned. The cylinder bodies (6, 7) inserted into the bore (5) each side are of equal length and are held in place by spring clips (16, 17). These bodies are in axial alignment and the space between holds the locking catch (12) common to both. This catch is offset (13') and operates in a similarly offset recess (18), clearance (11) being allowed all round. The main body (1) has a single hole (3) central with the offset catch, for the locking pin.
