<p>A fluid pressure regulator for maintaining constant the downstream pressure at varying rates of flow has a chamber divided by a flexible diaphragm into two compartments one of which has an inlet and an outlet through which a first pressure fluid may flow under the control of a flow control valve, the position of the valve being determined by the position of the diaphragm and the position of the diaphragm being determined by the relative pressures of the first fluid and a second fluid in the other compartment of the chamber. The regulator is constructed in such manner as to prevent the accumulation therein of air entrained in the first fluid and the valve is capable of providing a bubble-tight shutoff for the regulator.</p> |
