摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ceramic resistor which is used for a high-voltage large capacity circuit for power control and also compact and inexpensive and to which large load power can be applied and by which lesser load fluctuation is caused. SOLUTION: This ceramic resister consists of silicon nitride-combined silicon carbide which is obtained by sintering a green body formed from a powdery mixed raw material that consists of silicon carbide used as the major component and metal silicides used as the auxiliary components, in a gaseous nitrogen atmosphere and thereby subjecting the metal silicides to intruding reaction to form silicon nitride and to combine the silicon carbide with the formed silicon nitride, and has a thermal conductivity of >=10 W/mK and a temp. coefficient of resistance of >=-0.2%/ deg.C in the temp. range of room temp. to 300 deg.C. This manufacture comprises: adding a binder and water to a powdery mixed raw martial consisting of 60 to 80 wt.% of powdery silicon carbide used as the major component and 20 to 40 wt.% of powdery metal silicates used as the auxiliary components to form a mixture; then, kneading the mixture; molding the kneaded mixture into a green body; and thereafter, sintering the green body at 1,300 to 1,500 deg.C in a gaseous nitrogen atmosphere; where two or more kinds of powdery metal silicides are preferably selected from a group consisting of Si, FeSi2 and MoSi2 .
