<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction of a copying amchine after releasing the pressure produced between a pair of fixing rollers, by using a slidable fixing unit and a safety switch and permitting the ON state for the safety switch only when a manual lever which can release the pressure between the fixing rollers is set at its original position. CONSTITUTION:A fixing unit 1 is set slidably and outside the main body of a copying machine. A pressure roller 4 is pressed to a fixing roller 3 by a pressure lever 7 having a spring 5 hooked at an end. A release shaft 16 is set between side plates 2, and a release cam 17 and a manual release lever 18 are fixed to the shaft 16. An arm 23 having a pin 22 which receives the function of the cam 17 is set at the lower part of the cam 17. The arm 23 is coupled to the lever 7 via a lever 24. The lever 18 is set at the top part in the main body of the copying machine. In addition, a safety switch 25 is provided and turned on by the lever 18 only when the unit 1 is set within the copying machine.</p> |
